When
selecting a decorative register or grille, it's important
to understand the dimensions that describe the product are
located in the SKU#. For example: 410MO-R tells you that the
hole or opening that the decorative register or grille goes
into or covers up is for a 4" X10" opening. Many
times, when measuring an opening, you'll find that the hole
dimensions are not even numbers or even 4"X10",
but are oversize or even undersize (4 1/4 X 10 1/4, or even
3 7/8 X 9 7/8). A 4X10 decorative floor register is designed
to fit into a nominal 4"X10" opening, but it will
fit into a range of openings.
FIRST: If you have
an existing register or grille, remove it from the floor or
wall and measure the length and width of the opening

SECOND: Remeasure
the length and width dimensions to make sure you measureed
correctly the first time.
THIRD: Go to the
product page for the specific style of decorative register
or grille you've selected and pick the size closest to your
opening dimensions.
